Acadia National Park Wedding at Sand Beach

As an Acadia National Park wedding photographer, I get to witness some of the most meaningful moments of people's lives in places that feel completely removed from the noise of everyday life. Lexi and Scott's spring elopement at Sand Beach was one of those days I'll never forget. It was emotional, laid-back, and full of genuine joy from beginning to end.

Getting Ready at Hulls Cove Visitor Center

We all met at Hulls Cove Visitor Center before boarding the shuttle to Sand Beach. Scott and I arrived together while Lexi stayed behind so they wouldn't see each other before the ceremony. Even during those quiet moments before everything began, there was an excited energy in the air. The kind of anticipation that only comes when you're about to marry your best friend.

It was a beautiful spring morning in Acadia. The air was crisp, the sky was clear, and the temperature couldn't have been more perfect. Everything about the morning felt peaceful.

One of the reasons Lexi and Scott chose an Acadia National Park wedding was because they wanted something intimate and deeply personal. They loved the idea of exchanging vows surrounded by nature while experiencing someplace completely new together. Having never visited Acadia before, it felt like the perfect place to begin this next chapter.

Their ceremony on Sand Beach was incredibly emotional. One of my favorite moments from the entire day was watching both of Lexi's parents walk her down the aisle together. It was such a beautiful reflection of the love and support surrounding them. You could genuinely feel how close this family is and how much everyone was celebrating not just the marriage, but the life Lexi and Scott have built together.

A Couple Who Feels at Home Together

Lexi and Scott met shortly after high school and have been together ever since. Listening to them talk about their relationship was one of my favorite parts of the day. They shared that they've always felt completely comfortable in their own skin with each other and that neither of them had ever experienced love like this before.

That comfort showed in every interaction they had throughout the day. Whether they were laughing together or simply standing quietly while taking in the scenery, there was an ease between them that made photographing them feel completely natural.

Their shared love of travel and new experiences made Acadia an even more meaningful place to elope. Their wedding wasn't just about saying "I do." It was also about starting their marriage with an unforgettable adventure together.

Wedding Attire for This Acadia National Park Elopement

Scott wore a classic slate-colored suit that paired perfectly with what might be one of my favorite wedding-day mullets ever. He also showed up wearing his signature 1990s-inspired oil slick sunglasses. Of course, I had to tell him to take them off before the ceremony because I was pretty sure Lexi would have killed both of us if they stayed on for the first look.

Lexi looked incredible in a traditional wedding gown that she had carefully tailored until it was exactly what she had envisioned. Sometimes the simplest choices are the most timeless.

Why I Love Photographing Acadia National Park Weddings

One of the biggest reasons I love photographing an Acadia National Park wedding is because of the feeling this place creates.

There are very few places left where you can truly disconnect from the constant noise of everyday life. No traffic. No city lights. No endless distractions. Instead, you hear waves crashing against the shore, birds overhead, and the wind moving through the landscape. There is a peace here that's difficult to put into words until you've experienced it yourself.
