A Quiet, Authentic Evening at a Meaningful Place
Nicole & Aaron chose Beech Hill Farm in Pittston, Maine for their engagement session — the very place they’ll return to next year to say their vows. There’s something incredibly special about photographing a couple on land that already holds meaning for their story, and their session felt like the gentle beginning of a bigger journey they’ll celebrate here again soon.

Their Vision: Candid, Low-Key, and Authentically Them
From the start, Nicole & Aaron had a clear vision: natural, candid, low-pressure images with just enough direction to feel supported — but not so much that the moments felt staged. They shared that they often feel awkward in front of the camera, which is something so many couples relate to. But as soon as they settled into the flow of the evening, their calm, grounded energy and the soft way they interacted with each other became the heart of the entire session.

Working With Their Energy and Style
Because they came in with a vision, we were able to collaborate intentionally. I listened closely to what Nicole described — wanting images that felt effortless, comfortable, and true to their connection — and adjusted my prompting style to match. Instead of structured poses, I guided them with movement-based directions, gentle actions, and natural interactions that felt more like simply being together than “taking photos.”

A Sweet, Sunset Picnic to Finish the Night
As the sun dropped low over the fields, Nicole & Aaron set up a simple picnic-style toast — a moment of celebration just for the two of them. The golden light, the soft air, and the intimacy of that sweet ending made for some of the most heartfelt photos of the session. It was the perfect way to wrap up an evening designed entirely around authenticity and connection.

What Made This Session Shine
What I’m most proud of from this session was being truly intentional: listening closely to what they envisioned, adapting the pace and style of posing, and creating a space where they could feel genuinely comfortable. Together, we built an experience that honored their relationship and resulted in images that feel honest, warm, and deeply “them.”
